When you're a work-at-home Dad and things get hectic, sometimes you miss an episode! Daniel and Joe are back after a week hiatus. They lead off with a brief update on the kids (Sierra had a second dose of Hep-A vaccine), then we launch into some really fun stuff. The video of the panel that Daniel was on at Affiliate Summit is available for viewing, and Joe's big takeaway from the discussion was the upsides of wikis vs. other website formats.
Is the Geek Dads Weekly community willing to share in updating the Wiki with content? In an attempt to put together a repository of good information that can organically grow to suit the community, it must become a team effort to succeed. The use of a Wiki provides a platform for constant additions to the topics as the conversation continues. Topics can be re-addressed as additional information becomes posted to the wiki page.
It was a snow day in Atlanta on Friday, February 12, 2010, which is a rare treat. According to NOAA, the average amount of snowfall in Atlanta is 2.1 inches, and on Friday it was recorded at a 2-4 inches depending upon location.
Next, the Super Bowl - it was a great game, and the advertisements were all out there trying to do their best to be memorable, but one in particular sparks a terrific discussion: does Google's ad point out that they are, in fact, trending toward evil? Microsoft was the Evil Empire in the 90's, is Google having the crown resized to fit?
